AllCare Pharmacy offers a private Oral Thrush Consultation and Treatment Service for eligible patients.

What is Oral Thrush?

Oral thrush is a common fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida yeast in the mouth. It can affect adults and may cause:

Oral thrush is more common in people who wear dentures, use steroid inhalers, have recently taken antibiotics, smoke, or have certain underlying health conditions.

Who May Be Eligible?

This service may be suitable for adults who have symptoms consistent with oral thrush and are seeking assessment and treatment.

Our pharmacist will conduct a private consultation to assess your symptoms, medical history, and suitability for treatment.

Consultation and Treatment

Following a clinical assessment, our pharmacist may prescribe Nystatin Oral Suspension where appropriate. Treatment will only be supplied when it is clinically suitable and safe to do so.

The service includes advice on managing symptoms, preventing recurrence, and maintaining good oral hygiene.

With your consent, details of your consultation and any treatment provided can be shared with your GP to help ensure continuity of care and keep your medical records up to date.

This is a private service and is not funded or subsidised by the NHS. Appointments are available at all AllCare Pharmacy branches.
